My motto "Never Miss an Opening Act"

My motto in this life of concert I lead is
"never miss an opening act"

I mean you are spending your hard earned money on a concert, why not go and see the whole thing.  (Plus, I like to be front row)

Last Tuesday I got to see Cale Dodds at the Foundry in Athens (who opened for Sam).  Cale has a written a song with the lead singer of A Thousand Horses called "Drunk Dial".  If you are a subscriber to SXM The Highway you would have heard it on there as one of their Highway finds in 2014.

Opening for Cale that night was Seth Ennis (Like Dennis without the D).  He got on stage with a guitar and a flat bill Brixton snapback...remind you of anyone?

I will wait until you go to Soundcloud and fall in love with the songs. (https://soundcloud.com/sethennismusic)
 I'll wait, go ahead...

Undercover is my favorite followed by Polaroid.

I am sitting impatiently waiting to hear "Titletown" again.

I definitely recommend this guy for your Summer Playlists

I have seen Cale open for Sam 4 times but I have also seen him headline.

Opening shows are definitely different from headlining and so much better. Cale's songs go from one side to the other, from Planes going down with the idea of never seeing your loved one away to Preach...well it's Preach ;)  He also covers songs from our high school days "Bright Side" The Killers to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" to even "We Are Tonight" written by Sam Hunt.

Cale and his band (Ryan Barnett, guitar, Gabe Anderson, bass guitar and Chase Dodds, drums) have a good time entertaining whatever size crowd that is in front of them.  Athens crowd was on the small side due to Finals but you would not know it by watching the guys.  It was very intimate.

During every show there is a point where Cale wants you to high five someone that you didn't go to the show with.  He told me the main reason he does that is it doesn't matter what they are doing on the stage but the friends and the bonds people make over the love of music.

I now know a lot of people now from going to shows,  making friends in line and from people around me.  That is Victoria who I met at Sam's 1st CD release party in Greenville.

It is always such a great time seeing Cale in Athens.

That town...I love it!

I NEVER miss opening acts...cause if I did...my life would be COMPLETELY different!
